Since 1994, Todd has helped his clients through many life events, from births, marriages, and career changes to retirements and more, and everything in between. The result is many valued and cherished relationships. This extensive experience has given him the knowledge and perspective to help each client address their unique needs.

Todd received his Certified Management Accountant degree in 1993, his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation in 1999, and his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in 2014. In 2021, he earned his Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation from the Canadian Securities Institute, the industry standard for discretionary investment and portfolio management services.

Todd and his wife Karen are the proud parents of five children. They live on a farm in Meaford where they raise purebred Simmental cattle.

Todd is passionate about community. As an entrepreneur, he believes it is vital to direct his charitable activities locally. He is active in the local community, both as a volunteer and as a philanthropist. Together he and his family support many local clubs and organizations.

Heather Acres CFP

Heather joined RBA in 1999, shortly after studying Business Marketing, graduating with High Honours in 1996. She later continued her education, earning her Certified Financial Planner designation in 2002. She has also completed the Canadian Securities Institute’s Canadian Securities Course and the Officers’, Partners’, and Directors’ Course through the IFSE, the education arm of the Investment Funds Institute of Canada.

Heather manages the company’s office and recruits and supervises staff. Her role is to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with all required policies and procedures. She also assists clients with tax planning and income tax preparation.

Kevin Smith CFP, CIM

Kevin joined RBA in 2014. Kevin started his career in the financial services industry in 1992. Since then, he has earned his Certified Financial Planner and Chartered Investment Manager designations. He is approved through IIROC as a “Registered Representative” which allows him to advise on and trade securities for clients. Kevin draws on his extensive industry experience to thoroughly research and monitor the firm’s investment recommendations.

Kevin and his wife Laura Lee, live in Wasaga Beach with Bella, their Golden Retriever and Salty, the rescue cat!

Julie McKnight

Julie joined RBA in 2000. In her role, Julie supports our clients by providing back-office support to our financial advisors. Julie is passionate about ensuring the client’s experience is pleasant, and their requests are processed professionally and efficiently. She has always enjoyed small-town life and says she greatly enjoys working with her colleagues and clients at RBA Financial.

Julie enjoys spending time at the cottage with family and friends in her free time.

Louise joined RBA in 2019. As an Investment Administrator, Louise provides back-office trading support to our financial advisors. With greater than 10 years of client service and administration experience, Louise is dedicated to providing the exceptional service.

Louise earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Manchester University in the UK.  When not at work, Louise enjoys yoga, paddle boarding on Georgian Bay, and snowboarding at Blue Mountain.

Deb Ziegler

Insurance Advisor

Deb joined RBA in 2018. As an Insurance Advisor, Deb is responsible for the sales, service and administration of RBA’s Life and Living Benefits department.

Deb has worked in the insurance business for more than 21 years. In 1997, Deb turned her focus to life insurance shortly after Manulife Financial moved its Insurance Head Office from Toronto to Kitchener. Deb spent 12 years at Manulife and then moved to Collingwood in 2009.

In her spare time, Deb enjoys creating floral and stained-glass designs and her country property has given her ample space to fulfill her gardening passion.

Brittany joined the RBA Team in 2022. Brittany is working in the role of Client Relations Co-ordinator. She brings with her extensive experience in public administration and client services. As our Client Relations Co-ordinator, Brittany works closely with our new clients to ensure the on-boarding administration is seamless, as well as assisting with account administration for our existing clients.

She has spent the past 15 years working in downtown Toronto, before deciding to return home to the Georgian Bay area to enjoy all the comforts of being surrounded by family and all the amenities our area has to offer. During Brittany’s spare time, she enjoys family time at the cottage, helping in the family orchard and reacquainting herself with the area!

Lynn Skippen

Administrative Assistant

Lynn joined our team as an Administrative Assistant in 2022. She brings with her a lifetime of customer service experience. As a team member of RBA, Lynn is your initial point of contact whether you are arriving at our office or call looking to co-ordinate an appointment with an advisor. She also assists clients with their GIC deposits and helps keep the team organized throughout tax season.

Lynn established roots in Meaford as a teenager when she moved here with her parents. The bright lights of Toronto lured her away for awhile where she worked in the Financial District before moving into Fashion. Georgian Bay has a way of drawing folks back home, and in 1987 she returned to Meaford. In Lynn’s spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family.

Financial Planning Associate

Tim joined RBA in 2022. As a Financial Planning Associate, Tim assists our clients and their families to build and monitor their personal Financial Wealth MAP. The Wealth MAP is a tool that will assist Todd, as your advisor to monitor your investment portfolio, while also evaluating defined long term financial goals versus short term volatility results.

Tim was born and raised in Collingwood and attended Queen’s University where he studied Political Science and Economics. After years in Toronto, he and his wife chose to relocate back to the area to be close to family and friends and enjoy the lifestyle beautiful Georgian Bay area affords. Tim has industry experience as an insurance and financial advisor. In his free time, Tim loves to experiment in the kitchen, play guitar and spend time with his wife and two dogs.

Jackie Bristow

Jackie joined RBA in 2022 and is eager to bring her extensive customer service experience to the team. As an honours graduate of the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University, Jackie has built her skills across several industries including the hospitality, technology and construction sectors. Her well-rounded experience gives RBA a keen edge helping their clients financial growth needs.

In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors adventures the area has to offer from snowboarding to paddling and also playing piano, baking and hanging out with her rescue cat Arya.

Taylor Campbell

Bookkeeper

Taylor joined RBA in 2016. Starting with RBA at our Markdale office in 2016, where she has assisted the team with income tax preparation. In 2021 Taylor joined the team in Meaford and took on the role of Bookkeeping for the company and also assists with income tax preparation throughout tax season.

Taylor graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology. She owns and operates Royal-T Honey, an apiary with 100 hives. Taylor collects and extracts all the honey from her hives and offers it for sale at local Farmers Markets and some local stores.

In her spare time, Taylor enjoys snowboarding and growing her bee business.

Angela Teeter B.Comm, CPA, CGA

Partner, Markdale Office

Angela joined the RBA team as the Office and Operations Manager in the Markdale office in 2012.  In 2020, Angela became a Parter with RBA Financial Group (Markdale).  Angela assists clients with all of their personal, small business, and corporate accounting and income tax needs.

Angela attended Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology in Scarborough and received her diploma in Accounting and Financial Management. From there, she continued her education, receiving a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Laurentian University and her Certified General Accountant designation in 2010, and her Chartered Professional Accountant designation in 2014.

Angela and her two daughters currently reside in Markdale. Angela is very involved in community volunteer organizations and enjoys spending her spare time with family and friends.

Colleen Bannerman B.B.A, C.C.H

Partner, Wasaga Office

Colleen graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson Polytechnical Institute) with a Bachelors of Business Administration degree in Accounting and Computers. After working in the industry for several years and gaining plenty of accounting experience, you can now find Colleen in Wasaga Beach at Wasaga Tax & Accounting operated by RBA Financial Group (Wasaga) Ltd. 

Colleen has spent the last 15 years focused on growing the business.  Services now include personal and corporate income tax, bookkeeping, payroll, financial statements, and GST returns.

Colleen is a dedicated community volunteer, leader and family person. She is mother to 3 sons, a step-son and step-daughter and Grandmother to 5 Granddaughters with whom she enjoys spending her free time.
